14-year-old girl and her boyfriend arrested for killing her brother

A 14-year-old girl and her boyfriend were arrested last week in Taiping, Malaysia, for the murder of the girl’s brother.

The body of the girl’s 16-year-old brother, with injuries to his neck and hands, was found wrapped in plastic behind an empty house in Taman Glenview, Kamunting.

Taiping Deputy Police Commissioner Osman Mamat said the family filed a missing person’s report on Friday after the victim failed to return home from school.

After the body was found, police took the girl and her 15-year-old boyfriend away to help with investigations.

“After being questioned, they confessed to the murder,” he said.

Initial investigations revealed that a fight broke out between the three of them after the victim found a phone belonging to her sister’s boyfriend, at her home.

“It is believed that the girl had brought her boyfriend home the day of the incident, but the two left abruptly after the victim returned,” Mamat said.

“When the victim found the phone, he told the girl’s boyfriend to take it himself.
A fight reportedly broke out between them, leading to murder,” he added.

The body was sent to Rsja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh for post-mortem examination.
