Position Title: National Consultant Social Affairs Specialist

Administrative unit: FAO Cameroon OSRO/ CMR /902/ CHA

DUTY STATION: Maroua

Duration: 2 months

Organizational framework

The FAO Cameroon Liaison and Partnership Office is responsible for developing, promoting, supervising and executing agreed strategies to achieve priority objectives in food, nutrition, agriculture and rural development .

Hierarchical position

The consultant is placed under the general supervision of the FAO Representative in Cameroon and with the technical advice of the FAO Sub-Regional Office in Central Africa and the FAO Headquarters in Rome

Attributions:

It will work in consultation with international and national consultants. He/She will have to assume the following tasks

  • Contribute to the definition of the selection criteria for project beneficiaries in relation to people with disabilities (PSH):
  • Participation in the selection of beneficiaries and awareness raising for the implementation of income-generating activities;
  • Support the project in defining approaches to implementing AGR for the benefit of PWD to take into account accountability and monitor project implementation
  • Intervene in the preparation of future projects and provide various reports;
  • Contribute to the preparation of the final project report
  • Perform all other assigned tasks

CANDIDATES WILL BE SELECTED BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Minimum conditions to be met

  • Being Cameroonian;
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in preparation activities, monitoring the implementation of projects with people with disabilities;
  • Post-graduate degree in social and related sciences;
  • Fluent knowledge of French (written/spoken) and (level B) English.

Technical/Functional Qualifications

  • Good knowledge of the procedures of international organizations in general and those of the United Nations in particular
  • Good knowledge of IT tools (Excel, Power Point, MS office and other software);

Selection criteria

  • Position reserved for nationals or any foreign candidate residing in Cameroon and holding a valid work permit
  • Experience in planning, executing and coordinating Project and Program activities;
  • Flexible, able to work in a team in a multicultural environment and under pressure;
  • Excellent command of the Windows operating system and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.);
  • Previous work experience in a similar project would be highly appreciated.
  • Good knowledge of the rules and procedures of UN organizations
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills in French and English
  • Professional experience in an International Organization would be an asset
