ACF recruits 01 Advocacy Coordinator

Action Against Hunger is an international, non-governmental, private, non-political, non-denominational and non-profit humanitarian organization.

Action Against Hunger was founded in 1979 to intervene all over the world. Its mission is to fight against hunger, misery and against dangerous situations threatening men, women and children. Currently, 500 collaborators and more than 5,000 employees work for Action contre La Faim in more than forty-six countries, and in four areas of action: health / nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and water / sanitation.

General objective of the position

Coordinate the development and implementation of Action Against Hunger’s advocacy strategy in Niger in line with the mission’s country strategy.

Main responsibilities

Objective 1: Update Advocacy Strategy of Action Against Hunger Niger in line with the mission’s program strategy.

The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for:

Update the national advocacy strategy for the Niger mission, in line with the technical strategies of the mission and the international advocacy strategy (and regional if applicable);
To develop/update the annual action plan, in collaboration with the Country Director, Deputy Country Directors, Technical Coordinators and Base Managers;
To ensure the appropriation and implementation of the objectives of the advocacy strategy by all members of the Mission Niger team.

Objective 2: Ensure the implementation of Action contre la Faim Niger’s advocacy strategy.

The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for:

To coordinate the management of information, the collection of evidence and the capitalization necessary for advocacy;
To consolidate the analysis of the situation on the axes of advocacy;
To write/consolidate documents and advocacy materials (summary note/briefings, position papers, etc.);
Supervise the production of internal and external communication documents for the mission;
Develop and coordinate partnerships with other advocacy actors (other NGOs and civil society) and facilitate joint advocacy actions;
Represent Action Against Hunger and participate in institutional meetings and advocacy meetings in coordination with the Technical Coordinators, technical managers, the Country Director;
To monitor and provide information on indicators related to advocacy.
Contribute to regional initiatives as well as regional projects, ensuring the implementation of advocacy actions defined in ongoing projects

Objective 3: Supervise and support the Advocacy team.

The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for:

To manage his team on a daily basis (animation, follow-up, motivation, evaluation, etc.);

Objective 4: Ensure the integration of advocacy within the mission

The Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for:

Manage and lead advocacy training for members of the mission;
To train, support and monitor the field teams in charge of local Advocacy;
Strengthen synergies within the mission: support technical coordinators, base managers and project managers to implement the advocacy activities provided for in the mission’s action plan;
Integrate advocacy components into mission project proposals and coordinate project proposal writing and reporting;

As well as any other task requested by his superior in connection with his position.

Candidate’s experience / training Training:Higher education (BAC + 5) in Political Science, International Relations, Law or Journalism

Specific technical knowledge:

Experience in the field of nutrition

Experience (years):

Successful experience of at least 5 years in the humanitarian sector, including at least 3 in advocacy

Knowledge of the humanitarian sector:
