ACTED implements more than 500 projects per year with 14 million beneficiaries in 37 countries. Our teams are made up of 400 international employees and 4,600 national staff.

ACTED Democratic Republic of Congo

ACTED has been working in the Democratic Republic of Congo since 2003 to respond to humanitarian needs in the country. ACTED teams intervene in emergency situations with the most vulnerable populations and displaced populations, as well as in long-term activities such as rehabilitation works, agricultural revival projects or the establishment of geographic information systems. ACTED aims to strengthen the resilience of populations and support the structuring of civil society.

Main role and responsibilities

    • The project development manager ensures the production of regular reports for the
    • donors and is responsible for the development of a communication strategy (internal and external) at the country level. He is also in charge of developing assessment tools,
    • monitoring and follow-up of ACTED’s mission in the country of assignment.

Ensure the production of regular, accurate and analytical reports for the Reporting Manager.

    • Understand and convey donor guidelines.
    • Liaise regularly with area coordinators, project managers and technical staff to ensure quality reporting for all areas and all donors.
    • Recruit and train Reporting Officers (expatriate trainees and/or national staff) to create a productive and efficient team in line with ACTED’s principle of cost efficiency and skills development.
    • Oversee the work, learning and development carried out by Reporting staff in the field to ensure the quality and timeliness of reports.
    • Revisit the database system to simplify and clarify reporting requirements.
    • Develop and incorporate strong monitoring and evaluation elements into reports.
    • Work closely with the Finance department to ensure greater consistency between financial and narrative reports, and ensure regular cash flow based on the regularity and quality of reports submitted.

Develop internal coordination and communication mechanisms

    • Ensure the smooth running of all meetings and their documentation (coordination meetings in the capital, area coordination meetings, weekly base meetings, monthly planning meetings, quarterly country coordination meetings.)
    • Ensure in particular that the reporting models, formats, philosophy and deadlines of each project and each funder are clearly communicated and adopted throughout the country for all new projects as well as for
      current projects.
    • Follow up on meetings in the field and/or in the capital, between bases and between Country Directors.
    • Write agendas and minutes of country meetings.

Develop a relationship strategy with external funders

    • Update weekly and monthly the “external relations” database, which summarizes recent negotiations and proposal opportunities as well as key donors.
    • Mobilize area coordinators, project managers and technical staff to ensure that proposals are developed in a cohesive and professional manner, in line with ACTED’s country strategy and donor requirements
    • Act as a reference contact for communication with donors, in particular the organization of the reception of a donor visiting the field.

Develop an external communication strategy

    • Define the activities, resources, partnerships and target groups that ACTED needs, in particular by maintaining a high level of information and understanding the strategy of donors and possible partnerships.
    • Ensure the continuity of public relations, update regional and project-specific sheets and document publications on ACTED in the media.
    • Identify funding sources for a more cohesive public information strategy in the country.

Assist the Country Director in the development of project proposals, responding appropriately to donor requests or initiating actions on specific projects or project components.
