A tragic road accident that occurred yesterday caused the death of several people, including two students from the National Institute for the Training of Health Workers (INFAS). The accident happened around 9 a.m. on the main road linking the capital to the neighboring town.

According to the first information gathered on the spot, the INFAS vehicle, which was transporting about twenty students to their place of internship, lost control and violently hit a tree on the side of the road. The shocking images show the vehicle completely destroyed, which made the rescue work particularly difficult.

Unfortunately, two students lost their lives instantly, while several others were seriously injured. They were immediately transported to the nearest hospital to receive the necessary treatment. Local health authorities said some were in critical condition, causing great concern among loved ones and the student community.

The accident quickly caught the attention of local and national media, which highlighted the recurring problem of road accidents in Côte d’Ivoire. According to official statistics, the country records a large number of road deaths every year, mainly due to speeding, faulty vehicles and poor driving.
