CAF Condemns BeoutQ’s Hacking of Matches

It is a scandal which arouses the anger of officials of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). She condemned the violation of property rights acquired by the Qatari giant beIN sports. Since the Women’s Football World Cup, this channel has devoted itself to this illegal activity.

It thus undermines the efforts of beiN Sports, which wants to establish great notoriety and obtain exclusivity for the broadcast of a number of international sporting events. By cheating this television channel, beoutQ risks big. A fine of 1 billion dollars could be demanded from him. CAF and its related structures will try to win their case in court.

beoutQ chose to broadcast all 36 matches of the group stage by fraudulently diverting them with the support of the satellite operator Arabsat. The latter believes that CAF refused to obey injunctions to stop pirate broadcasts from beoutQ.

“Only beIN Sports has a CAF contract to broadcast exclusively, with the right to sublicense, the matches of the African Cup of Nations, notably in the countries of North Africa and the Middle East, while the Egyptian channel Time Sport Channel, in its capacity as television host of the Competition, has authorization from CAF to broadcast the matches via free terrestrial television throughout the territory of Egypt,” lamented the Confederation African Football (CAF) in a press release published on Saturday July 6.
