Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a surprise visit to Kiev on Saturday to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky amid intense fighting between Ukraine and Russian forces in the South.

As the main supporter of Ukraine against Russia, Canada has provided substantial military aid and trained over 36,000 Ukrainian soldiers. During his visit, Justin Trudeau laid a wreath near a wall displaying the faces of fallen soldiers and toured an exhibition showcasing destroyed military vehicles.

He also met with a group of Ukrainian soldiers who had been trained in Canada and expressed their gratitude to the Canadian Prime Minister for his commitment to the Ukrainian people. It is worth noting that the visit comes as Moscow reports significant attacks by the Ukrainian army on its positions in the southeastern regions of the country.
