Canadian scholarships available to foreigners 2023
McCall MacBain Fellowships bring together exceptional students who are committed to using their leadership skills to effect positive change. They are matched with a mentor, take part in a leadership development program and pursue fully funded professional master’s or bachelor’s studies at McGill University.
DEADLINE: August 24, 2023 (international students) / September 21, 2023 (Canada and United States).
Eligibility Criteria McCall MacBain Leadership Fellowship Program 2023 in Canada
To be eligible for the McCall MacBain Scholarships, you must meet ONE of the following criteria:
- You are currently studying and should obtain your first university bachelor’s degree by August 2024.
- You have obtained your first university baccalaureate within the last five years.
- You obtained your first university baccalaureate more than five years ago and you are 30 years old or younger in 2023
Applicants must also meet the Minimum Admission Criteria for McGill Masters Degree and Linguistic Programs.

Application Process McCall MacBain Leadership Fellowship Program 2023 in Canada
- Applying for the McCall MacBain Scholarship: Be sure to apply early! The application period opens in June and ends in September 2023 for admission in the summer or fall of 2024. The scholarship application is separate from the application for admission to McGill University. Two recommendation forms will be required. Discover the application form.
- Applying for admission to McGill University: You will need to apply for admission to eligible study programs from McGill University. In general, the admission period begins in September for the following fall term. Apply before the deadline for the program in question, or in December at the latest if you receive an invitation to the final interviews.
- Attend regional interviews (by invitation): Following the evaluation of the files submitted, more than 250 candidates will be invited to regional interviews. You will meet leaders representing a wide range of fields, regions and experiences. You can then tell us about your previous studies and those you wish to do, as well as your experience and aspirations. See dates.

How to Apply for McCall MacBain Scholarships
To apply for the McCall MacBain Scholarships in Canada, please follow these steps:
- Complete a specific online application for the McCall MacBain Fellowships (click the “Apply” button below).
- At the same time, apply for admission to a master’s or DEP program at McGill University.
Applications for Masters programs at McGill University will take place on this link according to the following schedule:
- For the fall semester 2024: from September 15, 2023 to January 15, 2024.
- For the summer semester 2024: from May 15, 2024 to October 1, 2024.

During your application for the McCall MacBain Fellowship, you will be asked to upload the following documents:
- A one-page resume.
- All transcripts (PDF files) of your university studies.
- Any evidence of community activities, extracurricular activities, work history
- short essays of 250 to 300 words each.
- Two reference forms completed before the application deadline.
