Position: PSYCHOLOGIST

Contract: CDD-TI 6 months – PIC period

Main Purpose

Provide psychological support to patients in a context of malnutrition, in accordance with MSF principles, standards and procedures in order to improve their mental health.

Responsibility

Perform the mental health needs assessment, establish a diagnosis and a treatment plan, inform the family of the possible consequences of the disease and the drug treatment to follow and refer the patients to other professionals when necessary, this so as to provide the treatment most likely to improve their state of health.
Provide psychological support and psychotherapy sessions (individual, family, group), in accordance with MSF protocols and in such a way as to improve the mental health of patients.
Help and train staff members and, if necessary, other actors in order to broaden the scope of mental health activities. Work closely with the translators to determine the vocabulary and attitude to adopt during the sessions.
Provide psychological support to UP staff who express the need for it
Collect statistics and monitor data relating to mental health activities
Inform your superior and the medical team of any questions or problems that may arise in connection with the treatment, so as to offer the best solution from a medical point of view.
Guarantee the confidentiality of all information relating to the patient.
Required condition

Education

– Diploma in Psychology, essential
Experience – Minimum 2 years of experience as a Psychologist
– Desirable experience within MSF or another NGO in developing countries

Languages – Mandatory mission language
– Desirable local language

Awareness

– Computer skills (Word, Excel, internet) desirable
Skills – Sense of result and quality
– Teamwork and cooperation

– Flexibility of behavior

– Adherence to MSF principles

– Stress management

Type of Contract

CDD-TI: Fixed-term employment contract with an imprecise term of 6 months – PIC period
