Grant scholarship available 2023

The West African Research Association is calling for applications for its West African Research Center (WARC) WARA Travel Grant scholarship. To promote intra-African cooperation and exchanges between researchers and institutions by providing support to African academics and graduate students for research visits to other institutions and regions on the continent.

Submission Deadline: 09/30/2023

Attend and present papers at academic conferences held on the African continent.

Visit libraries or archives located in Africa with resources necessary for the candidate’s academic work.

Engage in collaborative work with colleagues from another African institution.

Travel to a research site in Africa.

Eligibility Criteria WARA Travel Grant

This competition is open only to West African nationals, with priority given to those affiliated with West African colleges, universities or research institutes.

Summary (50-80 words) of the proposed activity with a clear statement of the objective

Description of the project/research (maximum 6 double-spaced pages) stating why the trip is necessary (should be in language understandable to non-specialist readers)

Proposed budget

Curriculum vitae (with research and teaching file)

Photocopy of applicant’s passport (must be a West African national)

All applications must be submitted online in PDF documents

All applicants must have a letter of recommendation.
