HI recruits 01 Professional Integration Technical Assistant
Handicap International1 is an independent and impartial international solidarity organization which intervenes in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflicts and disasters. Working alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable populations, it acts and testifies to meet their basic needs, to improve their living conditions and to promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights.
Handicap International is a French NGO working in Togo since 1997 and in Benin since 2010 in the field of health and rehabilitation, inclusion and promotion of the rights of people with disabilities and vulnerable people.
Since January 2018, Handicap International has been implementing the project in Benin called: “Improving access to employment for young people with disabilities in Benin and in particular in the departments of the Atlantic and the Coast”. Funded by AFD and DGD, the project aims to support employment actors and companies to become more inclusive and improve the employability of people with disabilities.
To this end, Handicap International – Togo/Benin Program is recruiting in Benin, under a Fixed-Term Contract (CDD) under Beninese law for one year (with possibility of extension), a Technical Assistant for Professional Integration, position based in Cotonou with travel in the project intervention area and as needed.
Desired start date: August 12, 2019
The Professional Integration Technical Assistant guarantees the quality of the data collected and the methodological approaches developed as part of the implementation of the project. He/she participates in the dynamics of the projects and the program (team meetings, program meetings, etc.) in compliance with HI’s procedures and quality commitments. The Professional Integration Technical Assistant collaborates with the program’s shared services (finance and accounting, logistics, human resources, etc.) and other members of the operational and/or technical team.
Main tasks of the Professional Integration Technical Assistant:
Under the direct supervision of the project manager, the Professional Integration Technical Assistant will have, among other things, the following main responsibilities:
– Participate in the implementation and monitoring-evaluation of activities relating to the professional integration of young people with disabilities;
– Ensure the development of project implementation methodologies in collaboration with members of the HI team, external service providers and project partners;
– Support the development of tools, training modules and the production of statistical data related to the project monitoring indicators;
– Participate in the drafting of the Terms of Reference, the follow-up of consultancy missions, and the preparation of the various reports;
– Participate in the support and capacity building of the various partners involved in the project, both locally and nationally;
– Participate in the process of capitalizing on experience and managing knowledge in their field;
Qualifications and experience required:
– Minimum level Bachelor’s degree (BAC+3) in social and human sciences, economics or management and/or in an equivalent field;
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of employment and/or professional integration;
– Prior experience in a private or public employment promotion agency;
– Significant experiences of employment stakeholders in Benin and the issues of a vulnerable public seeking employment (women, young people, disabled people, etc.);
– Training in another field such as andragogy, for example, is an asset;
– Knowledge of the partnership approach and the multi-actor process.
Skills and abilities required
– Strong ability to adapt and work in consultation with multiple actors;
– Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships by adapting to a varied audience;
– Good organizational skills and autonomy in work;
– Ease in animation and training;
– Good writing, analysis and synthesis skills;
– Interest in disability issues;
– Ability to be discreet and respect confidentiality;
– Dynamic, responsive, motivated;
– Mastery of the mandatory office pack: Word, Excel, Powerpoint; – Very good command of spoken and written French (essential).

– Copy of diplomas;
– Having a driving license (vehicle and/or motorcycle) would be an asset.
