How to Contact Instagram

You have a problem with your IG account. You are looking for support.

Here are different ways to contact IG in 2019 and resolve your account issues.

Please note that given the large number of IG users, it is very unlikely that you will receive a response unless it is a security breach or exploit.

If you want to increase your chances of receiving a response from 0% to 0.001%, keep reading.

To submit a support ticket on Instagram, follow these steps:

1. Go to help.instagram.com
2. On the left, click on Privacy and Security Center.
3. Click on Report something
4. Select the type of problem encountered
5. Look for a link that says report
6. Fill out the form and click send

You can also do this (although with fewer options) directly on the Instagram mobile app. The steps are:

1. Go to your profile
2. hit Settings top right
3. Scroll to Support > Report a problem
4. Follow the instructions here

Why aren’t you getting a response from Instagram?

The answer is twofold: for starters, your problem is probably not a top priority for Instagram.

Second, they have 1 billion users (as of June 2018) and probably get an absurd amount of support tickets that are too difficult to manage (even for a company the size of Facebook).

Instagram is known for its beautiful photos, unfortunately not for its customer service.

Where to find quick help for your Instagram problems

The help portal at help.instagram.com is a good place to go. You can type your question at the top and see if there is an answer that satisfies you.

Another place would be to try your luck and message Instagram’s Facebook or Twitter page.

You can also try asking your question on Reddit r/instagram.

What kinds of issues can you report to Instagram?

Here is a list of all the issues you can ask for help with:

1. Accounts hacked – Select this option if you believe your account has been hacked.
2. Impersonation Accounts – Select this option if you have proof that an account has impersonated you.
3. Minor children – Click this option if you think you have found an account owned by someone under 13.
4. Hate accounts – Click this option to report a hate speech account.
5. Exposed Private Information – Select this option if you encounter someone posting confidential user information (e.g. home address).
6. Self-harm – Click this option to report posts where another user is clearly hurting themselves.
7. Abuse & Spam – Click this option to report abuse, spam or harassment.
8. Operation – Select this option to view resources for reporting human trafficking.
9. Other – If you do not see the reason why you want to contact Instagram, click on this option.

Contact Instagram through your Facebook Ads account manager

If you spend a lot of money on FB/IG ads, you will be assigned a FB ads account manager. You can try submitting your question/concern through them.

Since it’s in Facebook’s interest to keep you happy (so you’ll spend more), they’ll probably get back to you quickly.
