Support the logistics department in its daily activities

Work in good collaboration with all services and National Societies in the region

Contribute to the development of capacity in good warehousing and inventory practices at the Regional level.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

LOGISTIC SUPPORT

Prepare the documents for the acquisition of materials in accordance with the procedures in force and submit them to the review of the logistics manager before signature

Regularly review and process supplier payments

Update the electronic file of purchases and stocks

File purchasing records and other logistics documents for easy access when needed.

Support the logistics department in the search for proformas

Supervise loading and unloading when transporting or sending goods from the office and warehouse

Support the finance department in the preparation and monitoring of value added tax reimbursement files.

Proactively track orders and deliveries with all parties involved to ensure timely and secure delivery of goods.

Assist in the process of customs formalities with official offices authorized for customs clearance with tax exemption of goods ordered and chartered internationally and keep copies of related documents for follow-up.

Submit tender notices to the Logistics Manager for review and validation before publication

In consultation with the logistics manager, participate in the preparation of contracts for the transport of non-food items to various destinations.

Under the supervision of the logistics manager, follow the updating of the administrative files of the CCST vehicle fleet, the monthly recharge of the Tomcards and the supply of all the generators of the residences and the office

Submit weekly reports on logistics activities to the Logistics Manager

WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT

Take the physical inventory of the warehouse every six months

Record stock movements on the corresponding sheets and classify them

Coordinate and monitor unloading and stripping operations, storage upon receipt of goods in the warehouse and when loading for shipments.

Prepare, maintain and maintain accurate inventory reports

Education

Required

Minimum bachelor’s degree in logistics or relevant diploma in a related field

Experience

Required:

03 years of professional experience in the logistics field

Experience working for a humanitarian aid organization in a developing country

Asset

Knowledge and experience in the Red Cross / Red Crescent movement

Knowledge, skills and languages

Required

Excellent communication skills, including report writing

Have a sense of organization, initiative and autonomy

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks

Computer literacy (including Microsoft Office)

Good conduct/moral rectitude

Strong ability to plan and organize work taking into account priorities
