Late Rapper Tupac Shakur Honored with Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Renowned hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur, who was tragically murdered at the age of 25 in 1996, was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday. The American rapper, whose career burned brightly but briefly, finally received recognition for his contributions. Tupac had risen to the pinnacle of West Coast artists before being fatally shot in September 1996 in Las Vegas under circumstances that remain unclear. He was only 25 years old.

“At the core of Tupac, he knew there was a great future ahead of him,” said his sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, during the inauguration ceremony in Los Angeles. “I am extremely honored to be here today representing the Shakur family,” she added. “As his little sister, I had the privilege of witnessing his greatness emerge.”

The rapper, known for hits such as “California,” “Changes,” “Dear Mama,” and “All Eyez On Me,” sold 75 million albums. Tupac Shakur, who would have been 51 years old, continues to be highly influential in the world of hip-hop, thanks to his emotionally charged lyrics and theatricality.
