Lula Relaunches Its Ambitious Infrastructure Works Program

Lula relaunches its vast infrastructure works program

Former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has announced the relaunch of his major infrastructure works programme, which was interrupted when he left office in 2010. This ambitious program aims to develop the country’s infrastructure , particularly in the transport, energy and water sectors.

Lula stressed the importance of this work to stimulate the Brazilian economy and create jobs. He said that now is the time to reinvest in infrastructure in order to tackle the current economic crisis and revive the country’s growth.

The program includes the construction of new roads, bridges and highways to facilitate the transport of goods and people. It also provides for the modernization of airports and ports to improve trade with the rest of the world.

In the energy sector, the program aims to develop renewable energies, such as solar and wind power, in order to reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels. Lula says these investments will create thousands of jobs and help the transition to a greener and more sustainable economy.

With regard to water, the program foresees the construction of new reservoirs and distribution systems to guarantee access to drinking water throughout the country. It also aims to strengthen wastewater management infrastructure to protect the environment and public health.

Lula stressed that this program will be financed largely by public investments, but also by public-private partnerships. He also indicated that he counts on the support of international financial institutions to guarantee the necessary resources for the implementation of these projects.

The relaunch of this major infrastructure works program is an important step for Brazil, which is facing many economic and social challenges. Lula hopes that these investments will create jobs, boost the economy and improve the living conditions of the Brazilian population.
