Man Declared Dead Wakes Up At His Funeral

Gandham Kiran, 18, who had been pronounced dead, woke up during his funeral ceremony in a village in the Indian state of Telengana.

The young Kiran had been hospitalized on June 26, 2019, suffering from a high temperature and vomiting, before being diagnosed with a severe form of hepatitis. His condition worsened two days later and was transferred to a private hospital. Being in a coma, the doctors declared him “dead”.

Without disconnecting life support, Gandham’s mother carried him home so her son could die in peace.

When his relatives were preparing his funeral, the young man’s mother saw tears in the corner of his eyes. She immediately called doctors, the Hindustan Times daily reported.

After the doctors’ interventions, the 18-year-old regained consciousness three days later. On Sunday July 7, 2019, he returned home where he will continue his treatment.
