Osasuna Will Finally Participate in The Conference League 2023/24!

Osasuna shook land and sea for several weeks to be able to play in the Conference League next season. As a reminder, the last 7th round of La Liga saw their top continental position threatened due to a history of match-fixing from the 2013-14 La Liga season. And while the UEFA appeal committee confirmed the exclusion of the Pamplona club from the next qualifying round of C4 earlier this month, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) issued its decision on Tuesday. And finally, Osasuna will be in the Conference League in 2023-2024.

News that delighted the club, which welcomed the decision in a long press release: “ Club Atlético Osasuna will play in the 2023/24 Conference League, after the end today of the procedure before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for the “Consent Award” formula. In view of the new evidence provided by the club to defend its participation in the competition, UEFA concluded that Osasuna was a victim of the events that took place almost a decade ago and appreciated the institution’s initiative to clarify them. Therefore, UEFA consider Osasuna fit to participate in this edition of the European competition. There is no doubt that the Spaniard will now be keen to do well next season.
