Identification
Position Title: Psychologist
Works in collaboration with: Project Manager, All project staff
Reports to: Project Manager
Sector: Protection/GBV
Contract length: 8 months
Duty station Kousseri
Main goals
  • Provide psychosocial assistance to victims of human rights violations, particularly survivors of SGBV and ENA, ES in the departments targeted by the project.
  • Strengthen the capacities of protection teams, technical partners and community protection networks in psychosocial care;
  • Lead the listening centers;
  • Ensure quality work in accordance with INTERSOS values ​​and humanitarian principles;
  • Use working resources (finance, equipment, logistics) in accordance with current procedures;
  • Ensure regular reporting of child protection activities in the field and maintain a good level of collaboration and communication with partners.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure psychological care for victims of conflict-related violence or displacement;
  • Ensure psychological care for patients who are victims of sexual violence;
  • Strengthen the capacities of staff active in identifying and listening to victims of human rights violations including GBV and PBS;
  • Ensure awareness among the population within the community, refugee camp displacement site, etc.
  • Refer complex cases requiring specific support to protection actors with appropriate actions;
  • Produce the monthly report of the activities carried out.
  • Perform other tasks not listed relating to the position

Qualifications required:

  • BAC+5 in social sciences or clinical psychology
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in clinical psychology with adults and children within a multidisciplinary team,
  • Work experience: at least 1 year within an international or national NGO recognized for the value of its organizational mechanisms;
  • Experience working on an issue linked to violence or with a disadvantaged population following armed conflicts;
  • Experience in formal and informal training;
  • Ability to work within a multicultural and multidisciplinary team;
  • Writing ability;
  • Be of Cameroonian nationality;
  • Be available to organize regular field missions.
  • Be able to make a good reading of the security situation in the area of ​​intervention and surrounding areas
  • Fluent in French and other dialects (Arabic Choa, Mafa, Mandara, Fulfulde, Kotoko) of the Far North of Cameroon would be an asset;
  • Word skills and writing an analytical report
  • Be of Cameroonian nationality;
  • Good writing and expression skills
  • Good computer knowledge in word, windows, internet, powerpoint, etc.
  • Good organizational capacity
  • Holding a driver’s license is an asset
