Resignation of the President of the National Assembly

Mouad Bouchareb, president of the People’s National Assembly (APN) of Algeria resigned Tuesday, July 02, 2019, from the national assembly, according to Algerian media.

Our sources indicate that his resignation thus seems to be the consequence of strong pressure from the leadership of the National Liberation Front.

“Bouchareb’s resignation would have been ordered to calm the atmosphere within Algerian society, on the eve of a twentieth Friday of protest. And whose demands still require the departure of the president of the Apn, Bouchareb and of the prime minister Bedoui”, declared a parliamentary source to the ObservAlgérie site.

The closing of the parliamentary session has therefore been postponed, the time to have a new president of the national assembly.

Mouad Bouchareb was elected on October 24, 2018 after a “putsch” against former President Said Bouhadja.
