AAUW SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible for the American Association of University Women (AAUW) scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Hold non-US citizenship and reside outside the United States, or possess a nonimmigrant visa if residing in the United States.

Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree (undergraduate) in the U.S. or abroad by the application deadline.

Have applied or plan to apply by November 15, 2023 to an institution of study of their choice. The name of the institution must be specified in the scholarship application, but final university acceptance is not required at the time of application.

Have a command of English and confirm their skills in this language.

Demonstrate an excellent academic background as well as a commitment to women and girls.

Particular consideration will be given to applicants residing in their home country at the time of application, those from developing/emerging countries, or from underrepresented groups in any region.

It is important to note that recipients of this scholarship must commit to returning to their home country upon completion of the program.

ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES

All applicants, regardless of nationality, are eligible for a scholarship in the United States.

Additionally, a limited number of scholarships outside the United States are available to citizens and permanent residents of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Canada, Cyprus, Democratic Republic Rep. of the Congo, Egypt, El Salvador, Fiji, France, Ghana, Great Britain, Haiti, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Ireland and Northern Ireland, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Nepal, Nether- Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Paraguay, Russia, Rwanda, Scotland, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovenia, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Female citizens of the countries mentioned above have the opportunity to apply for a university of their choice, whether inside or outside the United States. In contrast, female citizens of other countries are only eligible to apply to universities within the United States.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE AAUW SCHOLARSHIPS?

School reports.

Proof of English proficiency.

Proof of a PhD or MFA (only for postdoctoral candidates).
