Since Tom Brady announced his retirement in February, not a day goes by without rumors swirling about his potential return to the field. The quarterback with seven Super Bowl victories has once again put an end to the speculations… until the next time!
In recent weeks, Tom Brady has found himself in the headlines once again. The former Patriot and Buccaneer has decided to invest and become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
This move sparked speculation among fans and media members, suggesting that a comeback was imminent. While the Raiders signed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in March, news broke that he had undergone surgery on his left foot, casting doubt on his availability. If this injury, sustained last season with the 49ers, were to prevent him from playing, the Raiders could terminate his contract without penalty.
Many have connected the dots, speculating that Brady could come out of retirement to replace Garoppolo. Brady is well acquainted with the offensive system of head coach Josh McDaniels, who was his long-time offensive coordinator with the Patriots.
During a podcast on the Sports Illustrated website, journalist Robin Lundberg asked Brady about all the constant chatter regarding his potential comeback.
“I am certain that I will not be playing anymore,” Brady decisively stated. “I’ve tried to make things clear, and I hate having to do it again because I’ve already said it multiple times to multiple people,” he added.
Brady also reiterated his commitment to his upcoming role as an analyst with FOX starting from the 2024 season. He signed a 10-year, $375 million contract for this position.
