National consultant for the realization of a review and systematic analysis of available social data on birth registration, vaccination and chronic malnutrition in Cameroon.

How can you make a difference?

I. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Identify the research institutions, faculties and grandes écoles conducting or having conducted research on social and behavioral data related to birth registration, immunization and chronic malnutrition in children and provide for each institution the list of publications;

Conduct a documentary review of existing studies integrating social and behavioral data related to birth registration, immunization and chronic malnutrition in children;

Carry out a cross-analysis of these studies with a view to updating the social and behavioral data available on birth registration, immunization and chronic malnutrition in children;

Propose innovative research themes on birth registration, immunization and chronic malnutrition in children.

II. Activities, deliverables and periods

2.1. Duration of the mission

The mission will extend over a period of 3 calendar months of effective work.

3. Additional Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Can apply, any natural person of Cameroonian nationality, having a solid experience in qualitative research in the fields of social sciences. The profile sought for the realization of this mission is presented below:

Hold a university degree of Bac +5 in social sciences (sociology, anthropology, law, political science, geography, etc.);

Justify more than 10 years of experience in conducting documentary and analytical reviews and preparing summary documents;

Justify experience in conducting similar studies;

Demonstrate good report writing skills;

Write, read and express oneself perfectly in French and English;

Being familiar with studies or similar missions with the UNS/UNICEF is an asset.

4. Application file

The application file will include the following documents:

The technical offer: The candidate must prepare a proposal in response to the mandate, ensuring that the purpose, objectives, scope, criteria and expected results of the assignment are addressed. The methodology, draft work plan and schedule for completion should be included. The technical proposal must also include the CV of the Consultant and copies of 2 summary documents prepared previously.

The financial offer: Consultation fees, possible travel expenses, daily and subsistence allowance (DSA), other costs. The financial proposal must be presented in a separate file clearly named “financial proposal”.

5. Working conditions

The selected Consultant will use his own equipment throughout the duration of his service assignment. He will also provide his own insurance policy covering all the risks to which he may be exposed during his mobilization period. Unicef ​​will make the payment according to the schedules agreed at the time of signing the contract. Unicef ​​reserves the right not to honor the payment deadlines for any product that does not comply with the quality standards in force within it.

6. Oversight

The mission will be carried out under the technical supervision of the Community Engagement Officer who is responsible for the quality of the final products, and who will thus ensure that the expected product complies with the expectations expressed in these ToRs.
